Whitewashed windows; draped surfaces; erased images: It all happens on and behind these screens. Concealment and obfuscation; the theatrical and transitional.
Who/where is the artist? Only a mannequin (a proxy?) might be found occupying these threshold spaces. A mute dummy that speaks: of display and desire and the gaze.
An interest in surface and touch reveals itself. The hand of the artist and the artist through time. A dialogue with art history and spirituality. With my history and sexuality.

I am a Ramsgate-based, full-time artist and graduate of the MA Fine Art course at Central Saint Martins. A qualified lecturer, past / upcoming teaching includes University of the Arts London and The Royal Academy, whilst I have and given talks on my practice in a range of Institutions. A former group studio Co-Director, I have co-curated exhibitions, undertaken residencies and organised and chaired artist discussion sessions. I exhibit in the UK and overseas and my works are held in a number of private collections. I am currently arts writer for the Ramsgate Recorder magazine.
